Study Groups and Workshops
In addition to inviting researchers to give seminars on topics for potential collaborations, the CIMR also ran longer workshops or study groups where groups of mathematicians spend time exploring new interdisciplinary problems, and thinking of possible ways forward.
European Study Group with Industry — April 2012
UEA hosted the 85th European Study Group with Industry from 16th–20th April 2012. The week-long meeting featured problems from various companies. For further information, please follow the link below:
IFR Workshop — September 2010
The workshop considered a number of problems, including:
- Efficacy of multiparticle dosage forms (Richard Faulks)
- Formation of "beads-on-a-string" (BOAS) structures in saliva (Pete Wilde)
- Rate dependence of glassy state aggregation on diluent concentration (Roger Parker)
- Boussinesq–Scriven constitutive law for Newtonian interfaces (Rob Penfold)
For more details, see the problem descriptions.
IFR Workshop — September 2009
The following problems were considered:
- Dynamic interface rheology studied by atomic force microscopy (Rob Penfold)
- Solubilisation in Bile Salt Micelles (G. T. Rich)
- Modelling intestinal luminal events — How good was your dinner and does it really matter? (Richard Faulks)
For details of the progress made, please read the Workshop Report.
