Lunchtime Discussion Meetings
In 2016, The CIMR hold weekly informal lunchtime meetings on Thursdays from 12:30 in S1.20. Sometimes these meetings will be a problem-solving seminar, sometimes follow-up discussion to a previous seminar, and sometimes just a discussion of a mathematical topic of general interest.
Spring 2016
- 28th January — Discussion of future directions for CIMR
- 4th February — no meeting due to afternoon seminar with external visitors to the School.
- 11th February — Seminar: Graph Grief and other Discrete Discombobulations
- 18th February — followup discussion
- 25th February — Seminar: Modelling Volunteer Behaviour in Large-Scale Online Crowd-Sourcing Projects
- 3rd March — followup discussion
- 10th March — "Some Episodes from my Research Career" by Dr Mark Cooker.
- 28th April — no meeting due to MMath presentations.
- 5th May — "Review of ESGI Durham" by Dr Richard Purvis.
- 12th May — followup discussion on cable problem.
- 9th June — Creating Impact by Working with Industry
