Complex Systems with Interfaces (COSI)

Note: The COSI Network has now closed, and has been replaced by the Evolving Interfaces in Complex Flows Special Interest Group of the UK Fluids Network. This website is being maintained as an archive, so the information it contains is not necessarily up to date.

COSI is a research network devoted to the study of complex interfacial phenomena. This encompasses a wide range of problems arising from nature and from engineering and industrial applications. Examples include multiphase flows, tumour growth, fuel cells, and geophysical flows. COSI is hosted by the Schools of Mathematics at the University of Birmingham, the University of Nottingham, and the University of East Anglia.

COSI is partially funded by the three host institutions and by the London Mathematical Society.

The network was set up in 2015 and is coordinated by John Billingham (Nottingham), Mark Blyth (East Anglia), and Jamal Uddin (Birmingham).
